Logo for the Polytechnic School Library

The library of the polytechnic school has undergone a rebranding by commissioning the design from scratch of a new visual identity that would allow it to completely reinvent its image.
Such opportunity is born from the winning of a call for ideas published from the Polytechnic School of UNIGE itself, addressed to the whole degree course in Product and Nautical Design.
The goal was to best express the distribution of the Library within five poles and its specialized nature, which is mainly aimed at students and teachers of the Polytechnic School courses, which include Architecture, Design and Engineering.
The new brand eliminates the dated connotations linked to physical libraries, creating in its new form a contemporary symbol, versatile and dynamic. Inspired by the shape of a tree, the traditional symbol of architecture, the logo is divided into two different parts: one that consists of the classical representation of a tree, which identifies the pole Architecture and Design, and a more futuristic one in which the tree is declined in an electronic circuit, which takes up the new sciences in engineering studies.
The leaves and the weld circular areas are reproduced in a number of five, referred to the library sites of the Polytechnic School. These elements are divided into two distinct and separate sections themselves according to the field of study: Architecture / Design and Engineering.
